The rocking horses are handcrafted, each rocking horse is made to order, although we do hold some finished horses in stock for people in a hurry.
We also hire horses out, restore old or damaged horses and supply accessories for people keen on building their own.
Our wooden rocking horses are designed for the enjoyment of children and to provide a long lasting friend to be passed down future generations.
We make three sizes of horses; small, medium and large. We can also make other sizes as requested, for example an extra large horse 150mm taller than the large or a doll size rocking horse.
Every horse develops its own character as it's built but all portray a friendly, non-threatening face. They come complete with real horse hair mane and tail (artificial hair can be used if requested), name plate, a choice of saddle types and a leather bridle. The horse and the stand are available in natural wood tones, in a darker finish or painted in the colours of your choice.
The horses are individually carved from laminated timber, this gives the horse a pleasing effect as the lines curve around the contours. As there are no butt joints in the laminated construction method and no single grain direction, the horse is generally stronger than the traditional solid wood carved horse.
The horse can be mounted on a swing stand made from solid timber with turned pillars, or on traditional bow rockers.
