SELECTING A ROCKING CHAIR

Classic Kiwi Products make two styles of rocking chairs, the slat rocker and the laminated hand carved rocker. All of our rocking chairs have been designed with both comfort and style in mind.

Each rocking chair can be custom built to suit the person receiving it. There is a choice of styles, colours, finishes and dimensions.

Choices available include but are not limited to:

• Style of chair

• Type of timber used.  All prices given are for chairs made in Macrocarpa or Pacific Kauri the price of the chair will alter if a different type of timber is used.

• Natural wax / oiled finish

• Polyurethane

• Stains to provide darker shades of wood

• Protective coatings for chairs intended for outside use

• Paint finish

This chair has been designed to sit outside on your deck.

Key Characteristics

• Made from Macrocarpa or Pacific Kauri, both durable timbers that have  natural resistance and therefore do not need any artificial protection against insect or fungal attack. they  are recommended both for  structural strength and decorative appeal and can be used outside with no protection.

• Can be polyurethaned or painted but we usually oil this style of chair.

• If left unpainted and if not oiled will turn a silver grey colour with time.

• Lighter than our other rocking chairs, so its easier to move around

• Lumbar support is designed into the back of the chair

• Hand crafted

Hand carved laminated Rocking Chair

The unique style of these rocking chairs provide you with a lifetime of comfort, they are ideal for stress relief in front of the fire or outside relaxing on the verandah.

Key Characteristics

• Made from laminated timber to give a strong durable product while still maintaining the warmth of wood.

• Usually coated in polyurethane, if it is to be used outside a marine polyurethane finish can be used.

• The rocking chair is fully carved to give all round comfort.

• The strongest of our rocking chairs, built to last.

• Hand crafted

• There are two unique styles of laminated rockers available. Styles 1 and 2 which differ in the positioning and shape of the arms.
